People. They can be challenging at times, but they can also be such a blessing. No matter who you are, you need people to survive. You simply cannot do everything on your own. Independence isn’t in itself bad, but when you become so independent that you don’t let others come in and use the gifts Gods given them, then it becomes a problem. We begin to suffocate the Church because the body of Christ can’t fully function.
Community. This comes by setting aside the pride that comes from independence. By allowing people into your life, with vulnerability, all the time. Community isn’t community when you allow people in only when it’s convenient for you. Community comes from consistency. From living with each other in constant communication, through the good and the bad.
Togetherness. Healing from brokenness through forgiving creates a unity within community. Without forgiving the support you had becomes weaker and weaker with time. People are going to hurt you but you have to decide how to move forward with that. Are you going to wallow or are you going to love them and forgive them like Jesus did? Are you going to keep showing up and fighting for them?
Unity. Comes from the togetherness that strengthens the people in your community. Without setting aside your independence you can’t fully experience Christ. You don’t have anyone there to help when you’ve fallen, or to show you another way up. Without people, you miss the glory do God and the blessings that come from pressing into hard things.
