It has been a week and a half of being in Colombia and man has there been a lot happening! We are partnering with an organization called Ciudad Refugio, who is the light in the city. They have so many programs that are reaching the community and impacting people beyond belief. I believe that they are Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones and that restoration and revival are going to happen soon.

My squad and I have been able to partner with them and help in so many various ministries; everything from construction, to prep in the kitchen, to youth and children’s ministry, and even homeless outreach. God is doing amazing things and I couldn’t be more blessed to be apart of this amazing journey and fire for God.

One thing that has really stood out to me these last couple of days has been redefining my definition of ministry. Everything we have done to help Ciudad is ministry but what about when we aren’t doing that structured work? What does ministry look like then? Ministry is life and life is ministry but how? I can’t just go out and talk to people on the street about God cause I don’t speak Spanish, yes Dora does help, but not enough to have full conversations.

I have come to realize that ministry in a country where you can’t communicate is vastly different then ministry at home. Ministry here looks like communicating the best I can with one word responses. It looks like smiling at people and looking into their eyes, so they know that they are loved and valued. It’s doing prayer walks around the city. It’s living a life of love that isn’t common for people to see. It’s also interceding for needs beyond my knowledge. Ministry really is spending time with God and living out his promptings of action.

As a squad we have decided to pray 24/7 for the entirety of our time here in Colombia. If you have prayer requests please send them to me and also feel free to join us in prayer.

  1. Your smile goes a long way and is a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love and joy!! Also your willingness to serve the squad in this weird time has been you selflessly ministering and serving the Lord too! So thankful for you and excited to see how the Lord continues to use you to serve and ~~lead~~ 🙂

  2. Much love……and many daily prayers continue!
I know just your smile speaks of Jesus’ Love! His Presence lives in you….and shines out in your eyes and your smile!
