Covid has definitely changed everything. The one thing that has always stayed the same though, is that God is good and He provides. It has been unbelievably hard fundraising during this season, because everything that I thought I knew about my trip is changing daily. We are now starting in Colombia, but that is the extent of my knowledge. Even though this season has so many unknowns, I am still more excited than ever to be going. A lot of people have reached out about their concerns regarding travel at this time, and the risks of catching covid. Honestly, I can’t say that I am worried about it. Yes, there are more challenges right now to travel, but this is the time that people need to love of Jesus. People need hope, love, compassion, and encouragement more than ever right now, and if I can provide just a little bit of God to them then my work is done. If Jesus was willing to die for us, then the least I could do it go out during a pandemic and share the love of God. God’s people are not called to sit back and relax during the hard seasons of life. We are called to go out and reach people. I made a declaration of faith when I got baptized many years ago, and I’m not going to back down from that just because of a pandemic.

I am going on this trip because it is what God has called me to, no matter the circumstances. This trip isn’t possible by myself; I need everyones help to get me there: prayer, finances, words of encouragement, etc. Not everyone can pick up their life and travel the world for a year to share God’s great story, but I can, so I ask that you partner with me and make it happen. I am going on behalf of God, my friends, family, and the Church. God will provide, but that comes through people tuning into the Holy Spirit and being obedient to what God is telling you.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies” Isaiah 61.

  1. Beautifully written! My heart…love…and prayers are with you all the way! So GLAD you are able to go! Prayers/trusting with you the rest of finances will come in. Wish I could do more…but hopefully my $25 month is a “seed” for others to make up the difference.
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is going to use you mightily. In big…and little ways! I will continue to be in daily prayer for you.
As far as COVID…you will be protected. ( No weapon formed against you will prosper!). Those who have gotten it ( COVID) it’s been proven that 99% of those your age recover easily and quickly. But….I will be believing with you for total health the entire year. For the team too!
Much love and many prayers ….Grandma Ellen
